Just wanted to answer your comment on my blog; yes Kambatigna (sp?) is the language of the Kambata area. That was also Bereket's first language... she only learned Amharic during her 8 months at the Gelgela in Addis. It is the most densely populated area in Ethiopia; the land is used for farming but there are too many farmers and the land is basically ravaged. It is quite a ways south of Addis Ababa... you can find a decent amount of info about Kambata on the Kambata Development Network's website (posted on my blog post).
